Olympic Awarded Minnesota Zoo Contract! Featured

Written by

Olympic has been awarded the contract for Phase 1 of the Minnesota Zoo's "Heart of the Zoo" expansion project. This is a multi phased project that is intended to elevate the MN Zoo to World Class Status. Designed by HGA Architects, Phase 1 includes the Cargill Environmental Education Center with new education space and headquarters for a new volunteer area (the MN Zoo has approximately 1,000 volunteers!)

Within this education addition will be a new classroom designed to view and study the new Penguins of the African Coast Exhibit. The Zoo's long vacant Whale Pool is also being renovated into the Target Learning Center, a new education facility which will host the popular KAYTEE World of Birds Free-Flight Show and a Raptor Holding Area. Phase 1 will also become the upgraded new Main Entry to the MN Zoo. This 20 Million dollar project is with M.A.Mortenson Company, a long time and valued customer of Olympic Companies. The construction schedule will run from approximately September 2010 to June 2011.
