Medical services to be housed in the new building include children's/pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), trauma/operating rooms, orthopedics/neurosurgery, heart surgery/interventional cardiology and emergency services. The project is expected to involve 700 to 800 workers throughout construction and is one of the top 10 largest healthcare construction projects in the nation.
Major Challenge:
Hospital work has its own unique set of challenges related to complex M&E systems which require high levels of coordination between trades. A significant amount of manpower will be required to complete this large project in an already busy market. Olympic started work on this project in June 2014 and will continue for the next two and ½ years. The new Medical Center is scheduled to open in 2017.
