Finding stability and support at Olympic Companies
When Garrett Hodges' close extended family was moving to Sioux Falls from the Pacific Northwest, he knew his family of four was ready to make the move, too. This meant that his kids could continue to grow up with their cousins who'd lived just 5-10 miles from them since they were born. So last year, Hodges moved his family from Portland, Oregon, to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Retirement couldn't keep Mike Almond away from coming back to Olympic SD
Mike Almond worked at Olympic Companies for 23 and a half years before he retired in 2017. But it wasn't too long after that he came to work part-time at Olympic. "Sometimes I'll work two days, and sometimes three. Sometimes I'll have a couple of weeks off, then I'll come back and do a full week—whatever they need," said Mike Almond.
Riverview Surgical Center
Description of Project:
A two story Surgical Center with over 45,000 square feet of space which includes operating rooms, medical offices and riverfront patient suites overlooking the Missouri River.
Major Challenge:
With a wet spring and summer, working just feet away from the Missouri River provided the most difficult challenge. We could not set up scaffolding to do our EIFS so we used 50' all terrain lifts to do all of it. We also paid careful attention to any potentiail soil erosion in the area.
